Growing Together in Grace: Our Mission
Our mission is to provide Southeast Fort Worth communities access to organic locally grown nutritious foods and lower food insecurities.
Our mission is to provide Southeast Fort Worth communities access to organic locally grown nutritious foods and lower food insecurities.
In 2023 our community and church volunteers grew tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, green beans, okra, winter squash, collard greens, swiss chards and herbs.
While lowering household food insecurity, the Grace Community Garden gives families an opportunity to learn about the benefits of growing local crops in a sustainable and environmentally responsible way; to learn about the importance of a healthy diet to combat heart disease, obesity, and diabetes; to learn how to prepare locally grown vegetables; and most importantly develop close-knit community relationships.

Our goal is to create an outdoor space where both young and old may take part in organic growing, learn how to eat healthier, learn about environmental sustainability, and create a stronger community connection with each other and the church.
The Grace Community Garden is sponsored by and located on the campus of the Grace Temple SDA Church. The church has been actively serving the community for over twenty years with projects such as a food pantry, showers and laundry services for the homeless community, counseling & job opportunity services, mobile vision clinic, flu shots, medical assessments, tutoring, school supplies giveaway and much more.
Being part of a community garden is also a great way to educate our children. Children can help out with planting and caring for the crops while learning about where their food comes from and also building relationships with the other gardeners and their families. The community garden provides a great way to bond with our family and get a bit of exercise while doing so.
Food harvested for the food pantry is guaranteed fresh from the garden.
Gardeners are community and church volunteers.
Organically grown without use of chemicals and harmful pesticides.
